June 23rd sponsorship and engineering doc
This is the Sportsplex specific content from the 600+ page document that was attached to the June 23rd 2025 Davidson County Commissioners meeting. It includes the "sponsorship" options (naming rights for the park, and each individual field) as well as the details on the design of the sportsplex that the engineers and architects should work towards for the final plan. The text shown in the thumbnail for this document is located on page 35 in "Attachment #1".
RFQ for the project
This is the RFQ (request for qualifications - i.e. a search for qualified contractors to do the work) from the Davidson County website. Note that the RFQ was posted 3/14/2025 and closed 4/21/2025.. and the "master plan" document that was attached is no longer there.
These are two of the documents that were used in the original plans for a Sportsplex in Davidson County back in 2015.
Three things to note:
Since this proposal was made there have been additional parks opened in the region, thus the supply of fields has increased.
The sites that were being considered were all farther North in the county than Southmont, closer to I-85 and closer to existing hotels and restaurants.
The consultants found that: Davidson County scores a 105 on this scale, making this project (proposed in 2015) - as it currently stands and at this stage of analysis - a low-moderate sports tourism opportunity. For reference, 70% of destinations SFA analyzes fall within the weak or moderate ranges. In order to achieve a final recommendation to move forward with the development of a sports tourism facility, Davidson County must elevate the opportunity from “moderate” to “strong.”
