Davidson County commissioners revisit plans for sportsplex

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — For more than ten years, Davidson County commissioners have proposed building a large sports complex that would offer a space for athletes playing baseball, tennis and more, but those plans did not come to fruition. It is never too late to try again. The proposal was revived after the recent purchase of the 350 acres that sits off Highway 8 next to Southmont Elementary School. They developed a master plan to determine how they can transform it into a sportsplex.
